What I Wore Wednesday- My Week in Outfits

I have been having a lot of fun taking pictures of myself standing on a chair, showing off the outfits that I love putting together.  I've been having so much fun that this week I decided to take pictures of three outfits-sitting and standing on that beloved chair.

I've entitled this piece "My Week in Outfits" because these outfits tell the story of my life, or at least tell the story of my life this past week. I won't explain to you the details of the activities I participated in, the events I attended, and why I chose to wear what I wore-but rather I'd like to tell the story of my week through the following pictures. Sometimes, art needs no explanation!

Cardigan- Thrifted (Vintage)
Tank- Express
Shorts- Urban Outfitters
Mary Janes- Not sure where I bought them
Purse- Thrifted (Vintage)
Bracelet- HSN
Necklace- Local Store
Headband- ASOS

Sweater- Urban Outfitters
Dress- Express
Shoes- Urban Outfitters
Head Wrap- Urban Outfitters
Necklace- Urban Outfitters

Dress- Express
Vest- Bon Ton
Bag- Thrifted (Vintage)
Necklaces- Festival Finds

So, where do you think I wore each of these outfits? And what do you think of them? Feel free to attach links of the fabulous outfits you have been wearing lately as well.

What-I-Wore-Wednesday- Vintage Colorful

This Sunday I think that the people of Wilkes-Barre PA were looking at me and my outfit and thinking "Ew. What is that girl wearing?" My little brother told me I looked like a "hippie farm girl", which is obviously NOT the look I was going for. I however, am in LOVE with this look. I love mixing colors and prints together and I think the overall effect of this outfit is fun, girly, and a little bit funky-bohemian.

The skirt I'm wearing in the following pictures was purchased for about $3.00 at the thrift store. Can you believe it? It's beautiful and current because of the length and floral print. I styled the top with a knot to expose just the tiniest bit of midriff; it is summer after all! I added a few fun accessories in light, fresh colors to complete the look. I also sneaked in a few non-outfit pictures to give you the vibe of the day that my outfit fit into.

What do you think?

Chiffon Top- Forever 21
70s Maxi Skirt- Thrifted
Wedges- Bon Ton
Jewelry- Thrifted and Flea-Marketed ;)

What-I-Wore-Wednesday is perhaps the most fun day of the week on Anthony and Elle. You get a look into out personal lives and our personal wardrobes! Feel free to direct me to your outfit posts; I love looking at them.  And let me know what you think of mine.

Thrifty Thursday-Thrift Store Finds

This Thrifty Thursday I actually went thrifting! I love shopping at the thrift store because as my grandma always said "you never know what you're gonna find".  Today I went to the local salvation army and found a bunch of great pieces and I only spend about $15.00. The pieces I purchased are all vintage, or at least vintage-looking (which is just as fun). You'll see a huge 80's tunic top that I'll use as a glamorous bathing suit coverup and some gorgeous mosaic earrings that I bought for only $1.99!

Some people are irked by the idea of wearing things that some unknown person wore before-but I think thrifted clothes are more interesting than new ones. They tell a story from the past, and it's so much fun to incorporate that story into the present.

Check out my finds:

Here's that fun 80's tunic top. It's a very large size, but I think it'll look great belted over a bathing suit (or over tights in the fall).

I found this really pretty floral tie-collar blouse. This is also a size or two too big for me, but tucked into a skirt or skinny pants it'll look blowsy, not sloppy.

I'm in LOVE with this bright floral-print 70's maxi-skirt. The length of the skirt and the colors are right-on trend, which is interesting since the piece wasn't recently manufactured. Trends really do recycle themselves!

Here's a basic white belt. It's not vintage or especially interesting, but it seems like I can only find belts to fit my small waist at the thrift store!

These earrings are so pretty and feminine.  The mosaic painted-glass-window look is so interesting, and matches a necklace I bought at a flea market a few years ago.

Last but not least, I found this cute pin with my initial on it!

Which piece is your favorite? And how would you style it? I'd love to hear some ideas about how to style my new vintage finds.
