Saturday Special - Pixie Mood, Vegan Handbag Designer

Do you need a new handbag, wallet, passport holder, or wristlet for the upcoming season but don't wear (or can't afford) real leather? Then Pixie Mood is what you're looking for! Designer Chloe Ho avoids using real leather because she and her company love animals and do not support wearing their skins. Although the bags are made from vegan leather, they don't sacrifice style. If you love the look of real leather, you will love these products.

Chloe is inspired by color and whimsy, and creates products that are fun and fashionable- but completely affordable! Every piece is priced at under $50.00.

Take a look at some of my favorite Pixie Mood products. Just looking at the rainbow of colors and fashionable styles will surely lift your spirits. Owning one of these will brighten your day every time you wear it!

The Steph Bag

The lovely people at Pixie Mood were kind enough to send me the Steph Bag in beige and it has become my new everyday carry-all! It looks like a satchel, but it isn't as structured as you would expect a satchel to be. The pliable material molds to your body and to the contents you're carrying. Look forward to more pictures of me wearing my bag in this outfit and in another more casual outfit on Wednesday!

The Disco Long Wallet

The Queenie Cross-body Bag
Pixie Mood products are extremely versatile, a characteristic important to many of us who have busy lives. Although they are playful and whimsical, perfect for a young free-spirited person- every piece can be styled into a professional woman's wardrobe. Many of the long wallets and passport holders can double their wear-ability and be used as clutches. And the bags that come with straps can be worn cross-body or on the shoulder.

Preview of the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 Collection
The new collection incorporates the darker, moodier colors that compliment the fall and winter seasons to come and the outfits we will be wearing throughout these seasons. We see some sparkly bags, ideal for a girly-girl- and we see some satchels, perfect for a busy business-woman.

I know that many of you will now love Pixie Mood as much as I do. Head over to the website and pick out a new bag, while supporting the use of cruelty-free products. Which piece is your favorite?

Thrifty Thursday- This and That, Accessories

I don't really NEED more jewelry, but a girl can never have too much-right? This is what I was telling myself as I purchased a bunch of funky fashion jewelry this Thrifty Thursday. I found so many interesting pieces on sale and I couldn't help myself! Accessories make the outfit.

Samii Ryan makes some really cool and fashion-forward pieces. After being inspired by my recent post about rock-and-roll jewelry, I had to purchase her "Golden Girl" spike earrings. They will surely  edge-up any basic outfit.

Then, ASOS can't be beat for on-sale jewelry and accessories with FREE SHIPPING! Friendship bracelets are really popular right now, as are seed beads.  So I ordered a really interesting "friendship necklace" featuring lightning-bolt charms, and a seed-bead "Peace" bracelet.  The colors woven into the necklace are fun and the lightning bolts give it some edge. The bracelet is cute and versatile, and the "Peace" message is always appealing. Finally, since I'm in love with hair accessories (I once heard a celebrity say that we need to dress up our hair just like we dress up our feet) I purchased a filigree metal headband. I've never seen anything like it- Grecian mixed with girly.

Thrifty Thursday - Necessary Accessories

This Thrifty Thursday, I'm focusing on accessories!

I was in desperate need of new things to spice up my outfits, so these accessories will help me out a lot!

Lucky for me, Topman had a free shipping event last week and I took full advantage of that! One thing that does annoy me about Topman is that they will list items on their site that they run out of stock of, which is really misleading and annoying! But, overall, I think they have great sales and decent clothing! Most importantly, they carry my size!

I'm really excited about the shoes, because they definitely can add something more to an outfit. I haven't received my order from Topman yet, so I'm hoping the colors are true to the pictures that I ordered from! I'm normally not disappointed with them, so I'm sure they'll be great!

I was in DESPERATE need of a good wallet, and I'm so excited about this one! Ever since losing my Monster Yak Pak wallet, I've been forced to use a very old brown Aeropostale one that is just not a good look. I'm all about cool patterns when you whip out a wallet, so this is perfect!

H&M - Mustard Suspenders - $9.95

I saw these at the last minute on a recent trip to H&M and threw it on Jack's order while he was paying! I NEEDED them! How can you not want mustard suspenders? I can't wait to wear them with my mustard pants, and I'm thinking a dark top to contrast the bold color? We will see! It's definitely going to come in handy for the Fall!

I think these are going to be fun pieces that will enhance my current wardrobe! I definitely want to try to incorporate more accessories, because I realize the potential they can add to a look!

What are your favorite new accessories??

Freaky Friday - Tattoos as Accessories

I must admit, I LOVE tattoos! I don’t think they are for everybody, but some people can really pull them off!

Fashion, too, seems to love tattoos. They are increasingly being seen in editorials and ads, being used as inspiration, and being acceptable, and sometimes encouraged, on models for print or runway!

For Freaky Friday, I obviously decided to highlight tattoos. The vibes they give off are undeniable; attitude, fun, sex, hot, dirty…so many words go through my mind! I’d especially like to point out a few models who really embody this vibe and how tats can be used as accessories to make an outfit that much better! Tattoos may be permanent (so perhaps you should think hard?), but who cares to think about that right now?? These models are hot!

Ash Stymest – 20 – England

Josh Beech – 26 – England

Plain clothing can be taken to the next level with some tattoos! Would a jean vest be acceptable without them? How about leather pants? And look how Ash’s hand tattoo and cigarette changes his image in a suede coat! Guys with tattoos are all over fashion these days, and I think it’s the inspired vibe that they give off; a no care attitude that’s always edgy and still chic!

Marina Dias – 36 – Brazil

A pretty lady in pearls and white has been seen before, no? But Marina kicks it up a notch with beautifully colored tats under all of her garments. She has a very gritty and sexy vibe in all of her clothing, but her beauty is undeniable! I love how the colors can work with outfits and shine through to make a garment that much more special! It looks great next to a patterned dress and hat!

Do you have any tattoo ideas that you’d love to get? Where would you get them and how would you incorporate it into YOUR look??

A.Carmen

P.S. - Oh, and I guess I'll show my own tiny wrist tattoo! It's the perfect accessory when you're avoiding pictures!! I want more...
