Hello again!
After a short break, I am back with some more DIYs.
I have so many things I want to make and show you, but I was swamped with moving and work this week. So, I decided to revamp some summer items that were already in my closet.
I bought a pack of studs for like $2 on eBay, and I have been dying to use them.
So I call this segment, Fun with Studs.
My sister bought me this sweet bathing suit from Victoria's Secret for the summer.
(P.S. You may recognize the style from one of Elle's previous posts)
As if the neon green color wasn't fierce enough, I decided adding some studs to the top was necessary.
The studs I have are super easy to use. They pierce right through the fabric and then you push down 4 pegs in the back to keep it in place.
I didn't want to go overboard, so I just did a line across the top of each cup.
Now it is like a brand new bathing suit! I'm in love with it.
I might even add another row or two.
Since this is one of the easiest DIY projects, I also decided to stud a pair of canvas shoes.
I bought these cuties for $6 at Target.
They are the perfect summer slip-on, and they are actually really comfortable.
Again, studs were necessary. I added a few along the seam of each side of the shoes.
Now they are just a little bit more interesting, and no one else has a pair like me.
So if you are looking for a cute way to revamp some old (or new) items in your closet, studs are definitely an easy, cheap, and stylish way to do so.
Hope you like! See ya next week!

Love these studdings! I think it's cool that you followed the seam lines too - I think it's a good way of making them noticeable because they can add interest to a look, as well!
ReplyDeletePS - let's go to the beach-each! I think people are going down for Labor Day? Haha
ReplyDeleteIf Labor Day is the second weekend in september, I am down!! I'll request off ASAP :)
DeleteJust kidding. It's the first weekend and full time me is off, so I have to close :(
DeleteLabor day weekend includes my bday! :)
DeleteOoh, I've been dying to try some DIY studding, but I'm always worried I'll mess it up! You've done such a lovely job, though, I think you've inspired me to give it a go, too! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks! You should definitely give it a go. They are removable, so if you mess up just take them out and retry. Show us what you come up with!
DeleteI nominated you for The Versatile Blogger Award :) http://sophielouisevalentine.blogspot.ie/2012/08/the-versatile-blogger-award.html
