What I Wore Wednesday-Checkered Prints with a Slouchy Tee

I'm never much of a hat-wearer, but I found a checkered fedora in my closet and I thought I'd try it out and build and outfit around it.  The mood for the outfit was casual- I went to eat Mexican food, went thrifting, and went to a movie. So I thought that slouchy was the best way to style an outfit for this particular day.

The skirt I wore uses almost exactly the same checks as the fedora does, which could have lead to a matchy-matchy ensemble.  To avoid that, I mixed in a slouchy tee, tan oxfords, and some funky jewelry. The outfit ended up looking polished-casual, and not matchy-matchy housewife.
