The color black is traditionally spooky and provides the perfect inspiration for Freaky Friday. Because of the very nature of the deep, dark unknown that black symbolizes- when a person is wearing this color he or she is effortlessly mysterious. Without even trying, when dressed in all black a fashionista or fashionisto is either chic and aloof, or edgy and cool.
Head-to-toe black doesn't have to be scary and goth as tradition would dictate (although it can be, and the right person can ROCK a goth look). An all-black ensemble utilizing texture, print, layers, and some attitude- is a look that screams put-together.
Let's take a look at some street style, celebrity, and runway versions of the all-black outfit.
Street Style:
On the streets, the fashionable commoners wear layers of black. Inspiring us for the colder weather to come, street style photographs capture ladies and gentlemen in long, lean, billowing black garments. I imagine an outfit like this blowing in a stiff Halloween breeze, the girl in the outfit looking over her shoulder as she rushes through her yard littered with leaves into a dark, daunting house.

Celebs:
Celebs have always embraced black. They must appear perfect, and what color is better than black to conceal bodily imperfections? Embracing the innate concealing abilities of the color, celebrities on and off the red carpet wear black and look a little bit aloof, and undoubtedly fashionable (and skinny).

On the Runway:
Fashion shows are of course, dramatic! This season designers embraced the drama all-black can bring. The black outfit show-stoppers were creepy and freaky, yet sleek and modern. Although we can't get away with wearing stockings on our faces to the office or Mohawk headpieces to the grocery store- these touches complete an all-black runway look marvelously.

Agreed! Thank you!
DeleteI've always loved the contrast of black clothes with super-blonde hair (something I don't have). It gives another intriguing element to the outfit! Having dark brown hair, sometimes all black outfits wash me out a bit :(
