I'm all about a good murse (I mean, I have a lot of things to carry for class!) and though this one is out of my price range, one that can handle the elements, like this Coach beauty is necessary!

I really liked this segment, "Ask Nick Sullivan," the fashion director at Esquire! He had some really good advice! One reader asked how to build a look around corduroy pants. Nick suggested, "Think of cords as you would a pair of jeans: They always work great with a jacket that has some texture, like a herringbone tweed. Add a blue oxford cotton button-down and some...brown leather or suede wing tips and you're on your way." Perfect!

I loved this little section on travel outfits and where in the world you could wear them! Though there could have been more color in them, I liked the drawn in background with the models pictures!

My favorite look is the look flying the Atlantic ::: A cool quilted jacket with a striped lining paired with a chunky sweater and comfortable jeans! Easy for traveling!

I also got a supplement with my magazine "Esquire, Working." I loved this piece on "The New Office Dress Codes." It's so confusing where you work on what is acceptable with all of the names that are thrown out there! So what's business, business casual, and casual?

Business: Suits rule here, but they don't need to all be basic two pieces. Make it a three-piece or a bold check print!

Business Casual: Middle ground, play down a suit, laid back but professional! They suggest starting casual and adding business later, or doing the opposite!

Casual: You can wear anything, but should you? Mix up t-shirt and jeans with a nice blazer, or leather jacket. Don't be messy just because you can; if you look good, you feel good, and get that work done right! :)

Freaky Friday - Understanding Runway Fashion through Thom Browne

I love odd and dramatic runway shows, and I thought this one would be perfect for Freaky Friday! This week has been dedicated to fall, and here's a really quirky show from Thom Browne for Fall 2012! I think fashion shows are all about giving an artistic view to your clothing - so they do not need to be shown as commercially wearable. It's an inspiration - a preview to where your business is heading, and I can appreciate that!

Why do I love dramatic fashion shows?:

I love when designers talk about their inspiration so you can better understand where they were going with a dramatic collection. " Browne described a scenario where Punks face off against Jocks" (Style.com, 2012). I love the dramatization of this cliche high school rivalry seen through fashion! The exaggeration and whole production draws you into the clothing - and then you can begin to break apart the garments and understand that collection.

What can be gained from runway fashion?:

* Look at the pieces separately and see how you can work them into your own wardrobe *

* Understand the shapes and silhouettes for inspiration on how you want to create your looks *

* Take in the prints and textiles - see how you can mix them into your wardrobe YOUR way *

To me, fashion is all about expression, artistry, and confidence.

My Fashion Mentalities:

* Express yourself YOUR way! *

* Think of yourself as your own daily living art project and inspire others! *

* Feel good in what you're wearing to give you an extra boost in the day! *

Magazine Monday - Men's Summer Style with Complex

Complex Magazine is a great place for young men's fashion. I came across a recent article with 12 different personalities style tips for the summer! I thought it was great to take different perspectives on style and combine them all to create your own!

Michael Bastian

"Summer dressing is all about how little you can wear and still look pulled together."

That's exactly right! He recommends a dress shirt with shorts, dress shoes, and a great pair of sunglasses! I think it's a classic and chic look for the summer - maybe a little stuffy, but it still looks good!

Tommy Ton of Jak and Jil

"Summer dressing is really about stripping down to just the basics."

This is completely my mentality! I try to keep it simple and pump it up with either patterns or colors. Ton recommends nicely cut shorts with a semi-fitted t-shirt, and sunglasses for attitude! He also doesn't approve of sandals or flip-flops - and neither do I!

Matthew Henson (Complex Market Editor)

"Keep it simple, and pay attention to the details."

Henson says there is no need to to wear a blazer when it's 90 degrees... And obviously I agree! Let's be real; we need to be comfortable and sweat is never a good look! Be comfortable and cool - and then you're set! He recommends a plaid or lightweight oxford shirt with khakis or jeans. Sneakers or simple light shoes are great to pair with it. It's all about being relaxed!

Nick Wooster, JCPenney Creative Director

"Any trimmer, shorter, slimmer bathing suit makes every body type look better on the beach."

Wooster recommends a trim and tailored bathing suit with a clean waist and a slim leg opening. Elastic waistbands are a definite no-no and can be unforgiving. Fun patterns and colors are perfect for the beach! Fun, summery, and makes your body look better? Nice!

Leather pieces can be affordable, chic, practical, and worn daily in a number of ways! I think all of the options above are super cute!

Leather can be worn on both tops and bottoms. I think it’s best to choose one, and only wear it on that one in a given outfit (but combining it with leather trims is fine!)

I’m so excited that we continue to move away from the normal black or brown leathers, and continue to produce fun colors to give leather a totally different feel! The best part? Colored leathers are mostly faux! Faux materials continue to improve and get that leather feel without the ethical issues behind them!
