What I Wore Wednesday - Black and Mustard

So, Jack and I have been meaning to go to the arboretum close to where we live, and Sunday was a gorgeous day for it! If you're in the Philadelphia area, I would definitely recommend checking out the Morris Arboretum! It's fun and pretty!

I was also in the mood for playing with clothes... So I did!

Big ol' tree! I loved it.

We got artsy.

And I wanted to be in the fountain!

So we found these metal sculptural things that I made my model shoot! So, what am I wearing?

A full H&M look! ::: Black button up, mustard pants and matching suspenders, and my fun black peter pan shoes... Heck, even my round sunglasses are H&M!

Mess.

I love fun architecture!

We found this creepy grotto, and I had to explore!

Found this little stream, and I had to play with my photography skills. ;)

Ah! These spiders just kept coming out of the abyss.. I freaked out a little after the 5th.

Before leaving, I laid some eggs!

It was a fun and pretty little place, and a gorgeous day! And it's always fun to play with looks! :)

Thrifty Thursday - Building for Fall

Little by little, I've been picking up fall essentials during the summer! I think it's good to prepare beforehand, especially if you can find great deals!

H&M has been all about their mustard, and I'm all about buying every mustard piece! It's my favorite color for fall! I think it looks good on just about any skin tone, and it's a color you don't see that often (until now!) ...I've realized I can wear a complete mustard outfit with my current wardrobe! Too much of a good thing isn't always best. Also, who can pass up a $10 sweater??

There's that awkward transition stage when fall comes around, so t-shirts are still wearable, either layered into a look or on it's own. Couldn't pass up this simple blue $5 shirt! I also love t-shirts with breast pockets - they add a little something extra!

I have a vision for an outfit and absolutely needed this black button up to complete the look. Lucky for me, a black button up is a true staple that can go with so many looks! It especially balances bright or interesting pants. Again, I couldn't beat the $15 price!

When you're building your fall wardrobe:

1) It's okay to buy a signature color, especially if it looks good on you! Just don't wear them all at once!

2) Don't forget the details! Make sure to pick up little pieces you can layer into your looks!

3) Staples will get you far. They mix well and balance statement and trendy pieces!

4) If the price is good - get it!

Have you started shopping for the fall yet? What's you favorite piece so far?

Thrifty Thursday - H&M and DIY

This Thrifty Thursday has been a few days in the making! I've been obsessed with playing with dip dyeing ever since my post on Tuesday!

I've headed to a few H&M stores this week, mostly because they're having great sales! I found a few fun items that I can't wait to wear!

These shorts caught my eye upon entering H&M because of their interesting quality. The label says it is 100% cotton, but they are a plastic coated dark denim that add something really special. The best part of these shorts? They were $9.95 at normal price!

I've been dying for some mustard pants, and H&M had a great pair that fit great and will work with a ton of tops! They also work great for a day look, but can definitely be made into a fun evening look! These were $29.95, but of course I had a 20% off coupon, as well! Sign up with your email on H&M for great offers!

Along with these bottoms, I bought a bunch of plain shirts and dye for dip dyeing! I don't want to show you the results for a bit, but it has been so much fun!

Michael's has cheap T-Shirts for $2.50 each this week!
And H&M has more fitted options starting at $5.95!

Rit dye is pretty reasonably priced, and works great in a metal sink! I've been playing before work daily and can't get enough! Filling the sink with about 1-2 gallons of water and mixing with about 1/2 of the dye package with a bit of salt has been successful. Wet the fabric before dipping it in the bath and you can dip whichever parts you want to dye and experiment! Dipping for a few seconds will get a little base coat, and leaving it in for longer will get a darker/stronger color. You can play with different colors and ombre effects with one; so many ways to work it! I can't wait to play some more!

I'll end this post with my prize purchase from ASOS! I am DYING for this watch to arrive because it's sooo dreamy! It's so simple and fabulous and I'm way too excited about it!

Now that that's said; how would you work these items into your wardrobe??
