What I Wore Wednesday - Movies, Margaritas, and Fun!

For What I Wore Wednesday (probably my favorite day of the week!!) I decided to document another "Day In The Life Of!"

So, I normally start my day on the computer, and get my blog posts out to everyone early! ..And maybe I play around on Photo Booth a little too.. Diva!

After I got my blogging finished, it was time for the Wimbledon Men's Semi-Finals (thanks ESPN3)! Federer v. Djokovic? Can't beat it! I can't wait for the Olympics! It's like two Wimbledons in one year! Yay!
And of course, I love playing pool on MiniClip!

After that relaxation, Jack and I went to the movies! It's the best place to go around here! It reminds me of my favorite theatre from home, and is $6 for first matinee!

Outfit Alert:::

So, during the day, I wore an H&M basic t-shirt that I dyed! I got that marbled look by folding it up and twisting it and then dipping it in a black dye bath! I love the outcome!! I'm also wearing a white studded belt from Rue 21 and the teal shorts from H&M that I showed last Thrifty Thursday!

Jack wore a light dip dyed teal H&M shirt and Topman brown shorts!

We decided on Savages, which I really enjoyed! It was pretty to watch, and I thought to plot was fun. Blake Lively and Salma Hayek looked soo good throughout! Fashion! I haven't been to the movies in forever, and it was great on such a warm day! We also got carded because it was an R-rated movie, so that was an extra plus!! ;)

After the movies, we headed to this Mexican restaurant that we've never been to, but heard great reviews about! It's called Tamarindo's near Plymouth Meeting, PA!

It was really cute! (There were a lot of people in there, but it was getting near closing time, so it emptied out, just in time to snap a picture!)

They also had the tiniest salt and pepper shakers known to man! Aw! Haha.

What really topped everything off is that this place gives FREE margaritas with your meal! What??? It's unheard of, I know! And they were delicious! And really strong! Perhaps they get people to order more food because they're wasted by the end of the meal? Either way, I loved it!

Molcajete Arrachera

Enmoladas

Such a great place! If you're ever in the area, go! I had to take a nap after this!! But, mmm, the mole sauce they made was delicious! I need more ASAP!

We decided to hit the road after napping, and go visit a friend we don't see nearly enough!

Outfit Alert:::

Okay, you really have to forgive me for this picture. It was taken at the end of the night, so I know I look a mess! What do you expect?? Haha!

Anyway, I wore skinny faded gray jeans from H&M and another self dyed button sleeved top from H&M! I dyed this one by fading the shirt in red dye (dipping portions of it longer than others) and then dipping the whole thing in a black dye bath quickly! It took away the blood red that the red dye created, and added a cool contrast all over! I think it came out okay!

Trisha, Jack, and I caught up over drinks at Kildare's in Scranton, PA and enjoyed the bugs and heat on the patio! What a fun day!

What have you been up to??

What I Wore Wednesday - Tennis, Friends, and Lights!

Forget What I Want Wednesday, it’s What I WORE Wednesday from now on!

I documented a day in the life of (when I remembered to take pictures!) and tried to give a personal look at how some of my days go!

I started my day at my mom’s house (I visited after needing a car inspection in the area) and made our dog, Bandit, take a photoshoot… He was clearly over it!

I then quickly left to meet up and play tennis with Jack!

We played at my old University; it has changed so much! I’m so jealous of the new science building!! Why did it have to open the year after I left? Of course.

I wore my self-dyed shirt (H&M Basics) and dark coated denim (H&M) shorts to play. Probably not the most practical, but I didn’t plan on playing and it’s all I packed! This was taken after the match and it was super hot, so… Sorry! (Of course, I won! :D )

I love Jack’s stripped blue and white shorts too! (Modern Amusement)

From there, we went to Jack’s pool to cool down!

But of course, I had to post to the blog while there!

We then went to meet our other friends, catch up over Starbuck’s, meet a cute baby, and pick up some essentials at Target! Well… sort of…

I headed to meet up with Elle, after a long hiatus from each other! We checked in at our hotel and the party began!

I was wearing an Express black and white checkered button up, H&M mustard pants, and gray high tops!

We took some pictures, had a mixers, and went on our way… Very safely!

Okay, maybe not really, but we were not paying for a taxi to take us 0.16 miles, what do we look like, divas?

It was so good seeing Elle! We had fun drinking, dancing, chatting, playing in lights…and ending up at a drag show! What a night!

I know there aren’t very great outfit pictures, but it’s my first crack at this thing! I’ll get better, I swear!

Show us what you’re doing AND wearing today!

What I Want Wednesday- COLOR!

I hope that this color trend never wanes, because what I want this Wednesday is color, color, color! I love that we now have the freedom to mix unexpected colors together, and no bright is too bright.  I love that accessories don't have to match an outfit.  I love that monochromatic in today's fashion doesn't mean wearing the same color head-to-toe, but instead means wearing different shades of the same color together-giving an interesting watercolor effect. So give me color blocking, give me floral prints, and give me neon! I want it all!

Check it out! I want:

 A floral bustier
goJane- $28.80

A high-low skirt in a pretty color
Forever 21-$22.80

A Flowy Maxi Dress in a Bright Print
URBANOG-$34.10

Some Cobalt Spiked Flats
URBANOG-$19.70

A Denim Blouse
Victoria's Secret-$59.50

A Multi-Print Fabric Cuff
Etsy Online Shop "Jalmodovar"-$16.00

And a Raw Amethyst Long Necklace
Etsy Online Shop "The Little Happy Goose"- $35.00

With color, anything goes! Just make sure that when you're styling an outfit you mix in a neutral or two somewhere-maybe with your shoes or accessories.  We don't want to overwhelm the admirers of our outfits!

I could style these pieces together or separately. For example, mixing two of these pieces together, I could wear the denim blouse over the printed maxi dress for a breezy summer night. Or I could wear the floral bustier with the high-low skirt (as long as the waistband sits above the bellybutton-I don't want to show too much tummy) and the multi-print fabric cuff for a night out.  The options are endless with these colorful and affordable pieces.

So, which piece is your favorite? And how would you style it?  Have fun!

xoxo

What I Want Wednesday - Exploring Topman

So, has anybody guessed what Wednesday is?

This week, it’s What I WANT Wednesday! A nice post on what we’re dying to buy, or what we’re really inspired by!

I recently stumbled upon Topman’s Spring Summer Lookbook 2012 and thought the pictures were really cool and interesting and presented great day looks!

I loved all of the fun patterns mixed with solid pants. I’m definitely not into full patterned looks for men, because I think there needs to be something to break it up for you to really appreciate the print on it’s own. If it becomes too busy, it becomes way too distracting and gimmicky! Women, however, can totally get away with that!

These prints have a fun vibe, while still being masculine and relatable to the menswear market!

I also loved this short suit; very inspired by the 1950’s boy short suits! I think it’s a confident and chic look while still maintaining a professional side. I don’t know if there will ever be a day where shorts are acceptable in the office, but why not? It’s summer, after all!

Here are some items that relate to this conversation and are reasonably affordable:

Navy Check Skinny Blazer - $220

[paired with] Navy Check Tailored Shorts - $80

Multi-Patterned Scoop T-Shirt - $36

Black Acid Wash Shorts - $60

Multi Sublimation Kaleidoscope T-Shirt - $44

Peach Oxford Tailored Shorts - $70

I encourage you to look around Topman’s website, especially at their frequent ½ Price Sales! I love them for their affordability, range in size, deals, and fast shipping! Of course, for the ladies, there is Topshop! [ But watch out for their next counterfeit lawsuit! ;) ]

That’s what I want for the summer! What about you, Elle??

Next week, What I Want Wednesday may change, stay tuned! ;)
