Freaky Friday- Stockholm Street Style via streetpeeper.com

Street Style photographs are inspirational to almost all of us who love fashion, I think.  But when I was searching for some inspirational street style photographs, I had no idea that I would find pictures of such interesting fashion in Sweden!

On streetpeeper.com there can be found a collection of street fashion photography on the avenues of Stockholm, Sweden. The aesthetic is funky with a little bit of freaky. We see lots of black and a lot of androgyny that makes us look twice at the face in the clothes.

The fashionistas and fashionistos of Stockholm embrace a style that is unique and looks effortlessly cool.  Although they appear carefree, like they just threw something on, I know that these guys and gays took the time to plan the amazing looks you're about to see:

You can find all of these original pictures and more here

Which look is your favorite?

Funky Friday- Rock and Roll Jewelry

For any rock star, jewelry is essential in creating that punky, funky, outrageous aesthetic that works so well onstage. But you don't have to be a rock star or an on-stage performer to incorporate some rock-and-roll jewelry into your wardrobe. Spikes, skulls, gunmetal, and pyramid studs are trending in the fashion jewelry world.

If you're afraid to get noticed, this look isn't for you.  But I know that if you're interested in fashion, you are most likely interested in expressing yourself through your own clothing-and WANT to get noticed for your style savvy.

So why not try out some rock star jewels when you hit the town this Friday night? Just make sure you pair your rocker-chic accessories with clothes that are blank canvases. We want all eyes on us, but let's allow the jewelry to be the star of the show.

Freaky Friday-Virtual Mood Board

I am really inspired by designers' mood boards and the idea of a mood board in general.  Combining images into a collage to create a certain mood for inspiration is such an interesting idea.  I think I might make one to hang on my wall for each season to inspire my fashion choices!  But since today is Freaky Friday, I've made a Freaky Friday virtual mood board. If my designer collection was to be called "Freaky Friday", this is what my mood board would look like. Some pictures are fashion-related and some are just spooky. Each picture is freaky in a different way, but together they create a dark, moody atmosphere.

Don't Cover Your Eyes!

All but two of these photographs do not belong to me

Are you in a different mood now? Thinking about grunge, black, and goth? I hope so! Although I won't be creating a collection of clothing inspired by my mood board-I'M still inspired! I'm not naturally moody and dark, but maybe I can add touches of that to my fashion sometimes.

Freaky Friday - Tokyo Streets

I've always been enthralled by Japanese fashion! I love the lack of fear when dressing for the day. The individualized vibe that the cities of Japan let off is magical! Sometimes, it can get really gimmicky, but other times, it's perfectly freaky!

That why, for Freaky Friday, I'm spotlighting a site I stumbled upon... TokyoFashion.com ! Be inspired by these street style individuals who dare to be different... And create great fashion moments!

This got me thinking... Why are these looks so appealing to me? It inspired me to come up with some tips that I think we can all use for our personal styles!

MY TIPS FROM TOKYO:::

1) The often dark looks are enhanced with bright pops of color in different areas!

2) Unique hairstyles and make up always add something to the entire ensemble! It alone can be the pop you need to that a look to the next level!

3) Outrageous prints are always well balanced with solids near them! Mixing it up let's the print be appreciated in all it's quirky glory!

4) Grab a friend and be bold together! Sometimes it's intimidating to be different in the world alone! Grab a fun friend, and experiment with looks and take on the world together!

5) Adding touches of your personality makes individual looks! Do you enjoy the beach? Add shells on your necklace! Are you secretly messy? Add a black stocking on one leg, and white on the other to hint at this! Think about your personality and how you can individualize your look!

A lot can be learned from getting a look into different cultures' styles and approaches to fashion!

What do you like best about Japanese fashion?

Which tip do you think you can work into your own style?

Don't forget to check out TokyoFashion.com , it's awesome!

Freaky Friday - Tattoos as Accessories

I must admit, I LOVE tattoos! I don’t think they are for everybody, but some people can really pull them off!

Fashion, too, seems to love tattoos. They are increasingly being seen in editorials and ads, being used as inspiration, and being acceptable, and sometimes encouraged, on models for print or runway!

For Freaky Friday, I obviously decided to highlight tattoos. The vibes they give off are undeniable; attitude, fun, sex, hot, dirty…so many words go through my mind! I’d especially like to point out a few models who really embody this vibe and how tats can be used as accessories to make an outfit that much better! Tattoos may be permanent (so perhaps you should think hard?), but who cares to think about that right now?? These models are hot!

Ash Stymest – 20 – England

---

Josh Beech – 26 – England

Plain clothing can be taken to the next level with some tattoos! Would a jean vest be acceptable without them? How about leather pants? And look how Ash’s hand tattoo and cigarette changes his image in a suede coat! Guys with tattoos are all over fashion these days, and I think it’s the inspired vibe that they give off; a no care attitude that’s always edgy and still chic!

Marina Dias – 36 – Brazil

A pretty lady in pearls and white has been seen before, no? But Marina kicks it up a notch with beautifully colored tats under all of her garments. She has a very gritty and sexy vibe in all of her clothing, but her beauty is undeniable! I love how the colors can work with outfits and shine through to make a garment that much more special! It looks great next to a patterned dress and hat!

Do you have any tattoo ideas that you’d love to get? Where would you get them and how would you incorporate it into YOUR look??

P.S. - Oh, and I guess I'll show my own tiny wrist tattoo! It's the perfect accessory when you're avoiding pictures!! I want more...
